Contact Form 7 Not Sending Emails

Postby admin » Fri Dec 02, 2016 6:47 pm

Symptom: Users fill out the email form and submit send, even showing the green border message, but nothing is received.

Possible Cause: The 'TO' setting is not pointing to a valid email address.

Solution: Go to Contact => Contact Forms => Edit Contact Form => Mail tab.
Make sure 'TO:' is entering a valid email address correctly. Expect problems if you are using a email host provider to this end (e.g. Gmail.com). You should have no problems if you use your domain name email address (or the one used form the WordPress installation).

It's also good practice to use same domain name email address for the 'FROM:' setting. This is usually wordpress@your-domain-name.com.

BTW, a green message only means that the PHP function for sending the mail has completed successfully, nothing more, so you could still be having email misconfiguration issues, spam filtering issues or worse, an email address hacked.
