How to add another label and field item

Postby admin » Fri Jan 13, 2017 3:06 am

By default free wp-inventory plugin comes with a list of pre-formatted labels. For example, if you want to take inventory of items that have an expiration date (e.g. "Expiration") you are out of luck.

MySQL
So let's add a label parameter to the inventory list. First you need to add a column to the wp_wpinventory_item in your WordPress MySQL database. You should you phpMyAdmin on your hosting service cPanel.

Select the `wp_wpinventory_item' table => SQL tab. You can erase the first line in the big text box and enter this code:
Code: Select all
ALTER TABLE wp_wpinventory_item ADD inventory_expiration VARCHAR(60) AFTER inventory_model

Click on 'Go' button.

This will add a column named "inventory_expiration", however, once created, go to the table `wp_wpinventory_item' again and click on edit. You want to untick (deselect) the button for NULL, so that is not nulled (empty).

FileSystem

Now we have added a new label and field to the inventory list!
